The staff for the upcoming Crayon Shin-chan 2026 anime film, titled Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Kikikaikai! Ora no Yōkai Bake-shon (Crayon Shin-chan The Movie Super Strange! My Yōkai Monster Vacation), has revealed the theme song for the upcoming movie. The film will premiere in theaters on July 31.

Singer TOMOO will perform the theme song, titled “Otona ni Nattara” (When I Become an Adult). A new trailer for the movie shows off the theme, alongside new footage, which you can check out below:

The film marks the 33rd 2D animated film in the Crayon Shin-chan series. It focuses on “the land of yōkai,” and the Nohara family going to Hiroshi’s hometown of Akita to attend a famous fireworks festival during the summer. An incident ends up occurring which causes yōkai to escape from their land and will wreak havoc in Akita, and in other areas throughout Japan. The Nohara family then end up going to the land of yōkai, and find themselves in a mysterious yet nostalgic world, where they go on an adventure.

This past October, TV Asahi began airing a TV anime adaptation for a Crayon Shin-chan manga spin-off Nohara Hiroshi Hirumeshi no Ryūgi, which focuses on Shin-chan’s father. Toshiyuki Morikawa reprises his role as Hiroshi Nohara in the Crayon Shin-chan spin-off anime.

In 2024, Neos Corporation released a game based on the Shin Chan franchise, titled Shin chan: Shiro and the Coal Town. Shin chan: Shiro and the Coal Town is available now on Nintendo Switch and PC. The story features Shiro and Shinnosuke as they explore the mysterious Coal Town, and there are numerous activities to participate in, including fishing and bug catching.

Final Weapon had the opportunity to review Shin chan: Shiro and the Coal Town and interview producer Akira Nagashima.
