Square Enix has announced that the Octopath Traveler HD-2D RPG series has shipped and digitally sold 7 million copies worldwide. To celebrate 7 million copies sold for the series, Square Enix has released a new Octopath Traveler illustration by character designer Maika Minami.
Octopath Traveler 0, alongside the original game and Octopath Traveler II, is available now for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Octopath Traveler 0 free demo is available now with save data transfers over to the full game. The Standard Edition costs $49.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition costs $59.99.
On March 5, Square Enix released a new update for Octopath Traveler 0 with improvements to overall game performance. In addition to performance improvements, the latest Octopath Traveler 0 update increases the number of people that can be trained at the training ground, and players can now fight a specific box again).

Octopath Traveler 0 was featured on the cover of Famitsu’s December 18 magazine issue, which released on December 4, 2025. The December 18 Famitsu issue includes a cover illustration by Octopath Traveler 0 character designer Naoki Ikushima, and the issue has a 21-page feature and interview with producer Hirohito Suzuki.
