A recent PlayStation Blog post has revealed the unique features that the PlayStation 5 version of Crimson Desert will have. This includes visual upgrades with the PlayStation 5 Pro version and added immersion via the DualSense controller.
According to the blog post, Crimson Desert will take advantage of the PlayStation 5’s SSD and the PS5 Pro’s High CPU Frequency Mode to make progression as seamless as possible. It also makes use of Geometry Shader Oversubscription and NGG Culling to render certain elements without losing detail. Further, the recent upgrade to PS5 Pro’s PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) will mean that the game can reach higher 4K and higher frame rates at the same time. Finally, the DualSense controller will allow players to feel the weight of each attack, plus the pull of the bowstring with adaptive triggers.
The Standard Edition for Crimson Desert will be available for $69.99 featuring the Khaled Shield, and PlayStation 5 players get the exclusive Grotevant Plate Set. Additionally, the deluxe edition (89.99) includes Standard Edition contents, the Deluxe Edition SteelBook, the Map of Pywel. Further, a developer letter, a Greymane brooch pin, three character photo cards, three patches, and the Deluxe Pack (Balgran Shield, Exclaire Horse Tack Set, Kairos Plate Set) are also in the edition.
Moreover, the collector’s edition ($279.99) will feature the exclusive 17-inch diorama, a Collector’s Edition SteelBook, a fabric map of Pywel, a developer letter, and a Greymane brooch pin. It also includes three character photo cards, three patches, the Deluxe Pack DLC, and the Ultimate Pack DLC (Tormented Soul Bow, Derictus Spear, Sielos Longsword, Shroud Lantern, Hyperion Horse Tack Set).
Lastly, Crimson Desert will release on March 19, 2026. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
