Equalizer has announced a new game, titled Mythic Yi, which will release for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in 2026. It describes the game as a “retro pixel-style turn-based RPG” adaptation of Chinese mythology.

Mythic Yi will feature English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options. Check out the first trailer for the upcoming game below:

Lastly, the Steam page describes Mythic Yi as follows:

Amidst the pixelated and mythical wilderness, draw your bow toward the heavens, chase the sun, and carve out your own ancient epic.

Mythic Yi is a retro pixel-style turn-based RPG set in the primordial era when ten suns scorched the earth and chaos reigned. You will play as Yi, leading companions and wielding the Heaven-Shaking Bow and Cloud-Piercing Arrows on a grand journey to slay six ferocious beasts and save humanity.

Yet, this is not the old legend you know—

    • Ten suns dominating the sky: a calamity, but also a conspiracy;
    • Chang’e fleeing to the moon: no longer a solitary destiny, but a heart-wrenching farewell transcending gods and mortals;
    • Jingwei filling the sea with twigs: could it be that what she seeks to mend is not just the ocean, but millennia of regret?
    • When the pillars of heaven crumble and the stars fall into disarray, you will personally decide the finale of this myth—or rewrite it entirely.

Pixelated Epic: Meticulously crafted retro visuals—wastelands, divine realms, dense forests—every frame is a living ancient scroll.

Strategic Turn-Based Combat: The interplay of the Five Elements, celestial phenomena, and arrow skills create a dynamic yet thoughtfully paced battle system.

Reimagined Mythology: Multi-branch narratives and pivotal choices turn gods like Di Jun, Fu Xi, and Nü Wa into allies or adversaries, altering their fates—and yours.
