Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 has been leading the winter 2026 anime season. This season adapts the Culling Game Arc, one of the most interesting yet complicated arcs of the season. While the episodes do their best to briefly highlight and explain the rules, some of them can still be missed by the average anime watcher. Jujutsu Kaisen has already proved to be one of the most unique dark anime we have seen in a long time. By that standard, we can say that the Culling Games are a whole lot more complicated than the regular tournament arcs in other anime.
Rules of the Culling Game
Rule 1: Each Player Must Be Part of a Colony
All participants taking part in the game have 19 days to pick a colony to join. There are a total of 10 colonies present, meaning a whole lot of entertaining matchups. The announcement was made on October 31st given the people till November 19th to pick their colony.
Rule 2: Any Player not in a Colony by the deadline will have their Cursed technique removed
Like any good death game, it wouldn’t be called a death game if players could drop out or choose not participate, and the Culling games are no different. Any player who fails to join a Colony will have the unfortunate fate of having their cursed technique removed. The removal of a cursed technique basically means death, as it could cause irreversible brain damage.
Rule 3: Even Non-Sorcerers in Colonies are Considered Participants
If the Shibuya arc taught us anything, it would be that being in the wrong place at the wrong time can be fatal. However, in the game things aren’t as black and white. In the event that non-sorcerers were already within the colony when the barrier was placed, they are not trapped and can leave. As such, non-sorcerers who enter without considering the risks are confined in the colony and considered players, which means they can be
Rule 4 and 5: Players score points by ending the lives of other players,
Not all lives are Equal
The entire Culling Game is centered around the point system. Sorcerers must fight to the death, earning points with each kill. Players must fight across the colony’s boundaries, making it an inevitable death game in the form of a battle royale. Viewers are in for a treat as the sorcerers will also face off against ancient ones resurrected by Kenjaku. While non-sorcerers are worth one point, sorcerers are worth 5. Ultimately, a person’s worth will be determined by what they do in the game and Kenjakus final decision.
Rules 6 and 7: Players Can Spend Their Points To Add New Rules To The Culling Games, The Added Rules Are Still Subject to Kenjaku’s Approval
While all the rules of the Culling Game are iron-clad, players have the opportunity to add rules to the battle royal. However, rules can only be added if a player obtains 100 points. The rule reflects everything Kenjaku believes in, as only the strongest warriors can obtain 100 points. If a player struggles to amass 100 points to add a rule, if said rule violates or interrupts the Culling game in any way, it can be denied.
Rule 8: Players Who Fail To Earn Points Will Have Their Cursed Technique Removed
It’s safe to say that by all the rules listed, Kenjaku is a sociopath, so it makes sense that no one would be allowed to hide and wait until the end. All players must participate in the Culling games, as Kenjaku closely monitors them; any who fails to register a single point will have their Cursed technique removed.
