Dark Horse further elaborates on the new manga releases below:

Vampire Hunter D: Fortress of Blood #1 (of 4)

On sale December 16, 2026, for $4.99.

Set in the Vampire Hunter D world based on the original story scenario from Hideyuki Kikuchi and illustrations by the legendary Yoshitaka Amano, fans of the beautiful and deadly hunter known only as “D” will soon join writer Chris Condon (That Texas Blood, Ultimate Wolverine), artist Filipe Andrade (The Many Deaths of Laila Starr, Rare Flavours), colorist Jordie Bellaire (Six of Us, Assassin’s Apprentice), and letterer Frank Cvetkovic (Kingdom of Earth, Batman: Dark Patterns) in the first ever comic series based on the best-selling novel series.

The four issue mini-series begins in December 2026 with main cover art by Andrade, and variant covers from Riccardo Federici (The Last God), and original Vampire Hunter D cover artist, illustrator, and designer himself—world renowned artist Yoshitaka Amano! Subsequent issues include cover art from Emma Rios (Pretty Deadly), and celebrated cover artists Dan Quintana, and Eliza Ivanova.

A vampire lord has marshalled his forces and is marching on human settlements, aiming to leave no survivors! The old fortress stands in his path to the next city, and within it is a family of outcasts who must buy enough time for humans to flee from the bloodbath. Wandering that same path is the indomitable hunter, the terrifyingly beautiful half-human, half-vampire known as D.

Vampire Hunter D: Rose Princess Volume 1

On sale in June 2027 for $14.99.

The village of Sacri is a fertile oasis on the otherwise barren frontier. But Sacri’s prosperity comes at a steep price! The ruling noble, an immortal vampire princess, feasts on the villagers at her whim. When a young man attempts to save his lover from being bitten, the princess sends her four savage knights to punish the petulant villagers. Standing in their way is none other than the beautiful and dangerous vampire hunter D! With the help of a rebellious young woman named Elena, D undertakes a quest to end the princess’s deadly rule. But first, the two of them will risk their lives in an epic duel with her knights.
