Nintendo has outlined the various amiibo figures that will be compatible for Animal Crossing: New Horizons with the version 3.0 update. By tapping select amiibo figures from The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon series, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can invite certain characters to visit their island in update 3.0 and beyond.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches January 15 and will cost $64.99, and an Upgrade Pack will be available for $4.99. The new edition will add 4K visuals, the ability to redecorate and write messages using the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, a Megaphone which utilizes the Switch 2’s mic, and the ability to play with up to 12 players at a time instead of 8. You can also use GameChat and the Switch 2 camera while playing with friends.
Additionally, Switch and Switch 2 players of Animal Crossing: New Horizons will gain access the free Version 3.0 update. The update will add a resort hotel hosted by the Kapp’n family, along with the ability to decorate guest rooms inside the hotel. You can also craft multiple items at a time, invite guests using Amiibo, upgrade storage size, a dream world that allows you to create an entire island at will, collaborations featuring LEGO items, and characters from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and the Splatoon franchise.
