Obsidian Games has revealed its update roadmap for Avowed going into the 206, which covers the updates released thus far and those yet to come. The next major update will release in February to commemorate the game’s one-year anniversary.
Previously, Obsidian has added an arachnophobia safe mode, new abilities for the player characters and NPCs alike, and more. The next update will add new game plus, photo mode, a new weapon type, the ability to change your appearance while exploring, new character and Godlike presets, and more. Avowed is available now on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Final Weapon reviewed the game and rated it a 2/5. We noted that “despite Obsidian’s incredible history with the RPG genre, Avowed unfortunately comes up short compared to their previous games. Even if the gameplay foundation is very addicting, the lack of any meaningful story, dialogue, narrative decisions, and an overabundance of necessary XP grinding and technical issues lead the game to embody the worst parts of the genre. Sadly, it fails to stick out in comparison to games such as Cyberpunk 2077 or Baldur’s Gate 3.”
