According to Nintendo’s game compatibility site, NieR: Automata End of YoRHa Edition no longer has compatibility issues on Nintendo Switch 2. The fix comes courtesy of a recent system update for the console.
Previously, NieR: Automata End of YoRHa Edition had issues with backwards compatibility on the console. Now, according to the aforementioned site, the “previous issues have been fixed,” and the game is fully supported. It is unknown if the game will receive any future updates for the console.
Recently, Square Enix has announced the Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis and NieR: Automata collaboration will begin on November 27 at 6:00 p.m. PST / 9:00 p.m. EST with the “YoRHa No.2 Type B Intercept – Encounter in the City Ruins” event. The event will introduce new YoRha-themed outfits for Yuffie Kisaragi and Tifa Lockhart, and 2B from NieR: Automata will appear as an event boss in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis.
What’s more, an event campaign for the collaboration will be held with daily free 10 draws every day for up to 340 draws. Players can also login to earn 3,000 Blue Crystals, a daily free 1 Draw Crossover Draw, and obtain an Enemy Ability and other rewards from Event Panel Missions while the NieR: Automata collaboration is ongoing.
NieR: Automata is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. All 24 episodes of the NieR: Automata Ver1.1a anime series are available now to stream on Crunchyroll with English subs and an English dub.
The NieR: Orchestra Concert re:12024 CD releases on January 21, 2026, for 3,850 yen in Japan. The NieR: Orchestra Concert re:12024 CD will cost $39.99 when it releases worldwide in February 2026, and there’s a pre-sale for the concert’s Carnegie Hall performance on January 11, 2026, in New York City.
