SEGA has announced Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be hosting the “SpongeBob Festival” event from Thursday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m. EST to Sunday, November 23 at 6:59 p.m. EST. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds players can participate in the SpongeBob Festival event without owning the new SpongeBob SquarePants Pack.
Included with the Season Pass ($29.99), the SpongeBob SquarePants Pack will release on November 19 at 5:00 p.m. PST / 8:00 p.m. EST. The DLC includes SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star as playable characters, along with the Patty Wagon Vehicle, Bikini Bottom themed stage, new music tracks, and six different emotes per character.
The Season Pass includes collaborative content from the following series:
- Minecraft
- Playable characters: Steve, Alex, and Creeper
- Minecraft-themed course and vehicle
- SpongeBob SquarePants
- Playable characters: SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick
- SpongeBob SquarePants-themed course and vehicle
- PAC-MAN
- Playable characters: Pac-Man and rival ghosts
- PAC-MAN-themed course and vehicle
- Mega Man
- Playable characters: Mega Man and Proto Man
- Mega Man-themed course and vehicle
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- Avatar Legends
What’s more, NiGHTS will arrive in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as a playable character alongside the Dream Sleeper Vehicle with a new update this December, followed by AiAi from Super Monkey Ball and the Banana Cruiser Vehicle in January 2026. Sonic the Hedgehog IDW series characters Tangle and Whisper will join the roster in February 2026.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches on December 4 digitally for $69.99. A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack will be available for $10, and it will be discounted at $5 from December 4 to December 11. The physical Standard Edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will release in early 2026 with the full game on the Switch 2 cartridge.
Lastly, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
