Ahead of the premiere of The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 2 in April 2026, the staff of the anime have launched a new “idol project” for female protagonist Mahiru Shiina. The first song by Mahiru Shiina is a cover of Seiko Matsuda’s “Blue Lagoon,” and it’s available now on various music distribution services.
What’s more, an official X (formerly Twitter) account and website for the Mahiru idol project is now open with a new visual for The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 2, along with the jacket cover for the song.
Chihiro Kumano is directing The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 2 at project No.9. Keiichirō Ōchi was in charge of the series scripts, and Takayuki Noguchi adapted Hanekoto’s original character designs for animation, and Moe Hyūga composed the music.
The cast of the anime includes:
- Manaka Iwami as Mahiru Shiina
- Taito Ban as Amane Fujimiya
- Taku Yashiro as Itsuki Akasawa
- Haruka Shiraishi as Chitose Shirakawa
All twelve episodes for The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 1 are available on Crunchyroll. Each episode is approximately 25 minutes.
Lastly, the manga adaptation is available on Manga UP!, and the series is described as follows:
Fujimiya Amane, a high school student, lives by himself in his apartment. Next to him lives Shiina Mahiru, the prettiest girl at school. Someone who everyone calls “an angel.” They never really talk, but when Amane lends Mahiru his umbrella on a rainy day, their relationship starts to blossom.
Before long Mahiru finds out that Amane neglects his cooking and cleaning, and she feels obligated to step in. Although they have zero interest in one another, they slowly find themselves growing closer…
This is the bittersweet love story of a young man and his beautiful, sharp-tongued neighbor.
