According to a report from the What’s On Netflix website, the streaming service is developing an animated series adaptation of Crash Bandicoot. WildBrain Studios will reportedly animate the series.

WildBrain Studios has previously animated series such as Sonic Prime, an alternate take on the beloved blue hedgehog which initially premiered on December 15, 2022. Moreover, this would not be Crash’s first appearance on a Netflix series, as he appeared in an animated adaptation of Skylanders called Skylanders Academy. Both Rhys Darby and Eric Rogers provided the voice of the character in the series. The release date for the Crash Bandicoot series, story details, and its cast and staff are currently unknown.

The most recent mainline entry in the Crash Bandicoot is Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. The game initially released on PlayStation 4, and later launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch. Currently, the future of the series is in doubt as Microsoft/Xbox owns the rights to the character. The PlayStation Store describes Crash Bandicoot 4 as follows:

It’s About Time – for a brand-wumping new Crash Bandicoot game! Crash fourward into a time shattered adventure with your favourite marsupials.

Neo Cortex and N. Tropy are back at it again and launching an all-out assault on not just this universe, but the entire multiverse! Crash and Coco are here to save the day by reuniting the four Quantum Masks and bending the rules of reality.

New abilities? Check. More playable characters? Yep. Alternate dimensions? Obviously. Ridonkulous bosses? For sure. Same awesome sauce? You bet your sweet jorts. Wait, are they actually jorts? Not in this universe!
