Hero Games and Pan Studio announced anime-style mobile RPG Duet Night Abyss will not have gacha mechanics for characters and weapons, as all will be available for free in-game. The game will have a revamped monetization system, along with improvements based on feedback from the closed beta test, including the removal of the stamina system and skin system enhancements.
The developers reiterated that Duet Night Abyss players can enjoy the game without monetary restrictions and gacha mechanics. Characters and weapons will not use star-rating classifications or rarity tiers, and all weapons can be crafted and upgraded through the in-game forging system. Players can also recolor multiple parts of these characters through the new dye customization system. Weapons, outfits, and accessories can also be customized.
“The Duet Night Abyss development team is committed to creating a high-quality game that can operate and grow over the long term for players around the world,” a Pan Studio representative said. “The team firmly believes that monetization should exist to serve the gameplay experience—not dictate it.”
After launch, Duet Night Abyss fans can look forward to a new Psyche 1/7 scale figure from Good Smile Arts Shanghai.
Lastly, Duet Night Abyss launches October 28 for Android, iOS, and PC via Windows, and fans can pre-register on game’s official website.
