Shueisha has announced that Takeru Hokazono’s Kagurabachi manga series is taking a short one-week break due to “production circumstances.” The Kagurabachi manga will return from break with the release of 2025’s 49th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, which goes on sale November 4 in Japan.
New chapters of Kagurabachi typically release on Sundays at 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET. Fans may read new chapters at VIZ Media or MANGA Plus in English. The latest three chapters are available for free on the MANGA Plus website, but all chapters are free on the MANGA Plus app.
Kagurabachi entered serialization on September 19, 2023 in Weekly Shonen Jump, and the magazine continues to release new chapters every week in Japan. The manga’s first tankōbon volume released on February 2, 2024 in Japan, followed by the west on November 5, 2024.
What’s more, Chihiro Rokuhira from Kagurabachi is getting a new Nendoroid figure by Good Smile Company. The new Nendoroid figure comes many months after reports of a Kagurabachi anime adaptation by Cygames Pictures, surfaced late last year, but fans are still waiting for the anime to be officially confirmed.
Lastly, here’s an overview of the manga series, via Manga Plus:
Young Chihiro spends his days training under his famous swordsmith father. One day he hopes to become a great sword-maker himself. The goofy father and the serious son–they thought these days would last forever. But suddenly, tragedy strikes. A dark day soaked in blood. Chihiro and his blade now live only for revenge. Epic sword battle action!
