Previously, Bandai Namco shared messages from game director Hiroshi Yoshimura and producer Keita Iizuka, revealing some new details about the game’s story and systems. In CODE VEIN II, players don the mantle of a Revenant Hunter, who slays Revenants and terrifying creatures called Horrors.
According to Iizuka, the game’s story carries a lot of drama. Players will discover the bond between Revenants and Revenant hunters, with “encounters with revenants from 100 years ago.” This is thanks to Lou—the mysterious girl guiding the Revenant Hunter—who is able to travel into the past and rewrite the fate of the world, according to Yoshimura.
There will also be familiar systems, including partnering with characters and using blood-based skill actions. This is in addition to all new systems that weren’t featured in the original CODE VEIN. Further, players can use unique weapons and equipment called Jails, which are vital in defeating challenging enemies and bosses.
