HIDIVE to Stream Queen Millennia Anime on September 2

HIDIVE announced the anime adaptation of Leiji Matsumoto’s classic sci-fi manga series Queen Millennia is coming to the streaming service on September 2 at 10:00 a.m. PDT / 1:00 p.m. EDT / 17:00 UTC. All 42 episodes of Queen Millennia will be available on HIDIVE in Japanese with English subtitles. In addition, Sentai Filmworks will release the Complete Collection Blu-ray Disc featuring the entire anime.

Matsumoto serialized the Queen Millennia manga in the Sankei Shimbun and Nishinippon Sports newspapers from 1980 to 1983. The manga was adapted into anime by Toei Animation from 1981 to 1982, and it went on to also receive an anime movie adaptation in 1982 as well. What’s more, the anime was directed by Nobutaka Nishizawa (Slam Dunk), and the cast stars Keiko Han (Luna in Sailor Moon) as La Andromeda Promethium II and Keiko Toda (Osono in Kiki’s Delivery Serviceas Hajime Amamori.
