NIS America announced Nihon Falcom-developed action RPG Ys X: Proud Nordics is coming to the west for Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam in early 2026. Ys X: Proud Nordics will feature a 120 FPS performance mode on Nintendo Switch 2, along with a 60 FPS default setting.
Ys X: Proud Nordics released on July 31 for Nintendo Switch 2 in Japan, and additional platforms for the game have not been announced. Ys X: Proud Nordics will be sold physically and digitally in Japan, and first-print copies of the physical edition include the “Additional Music Collection” CD. Clouded Leopard Entertainment released Ys X: Proud Nordics on August 21 with an additional PC (Steam) version in Asia with Japanese audio and Korean, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese subtitles.
Ys X: Proud Nordics features a new story, new elements and upgrades, new bosses, Mana Ride races, battles in the arena where deadly enemies await, new Mana Actions, and much more. Players will have access to Aland Island, a massive island located north of Obelia Gulf. While Adol Christin and Karja Balta fight off the Griegr, they will visit the island and uncover countless ruins in these unexplored lands. An encounter with another “Mana user” awaits them there.
Before the game’s western launch in October 2024, Final Weapon reviewed Ys X: Nordics and claimed that it sets the standard for modern-day action RPGs. Ys X: Nordics “invokes a sense of adventure and mystery” while delivering an incredible story and combat system, earning it a 4.5/5 review score from Final Weapon.
