Sanrio and Sunblink revealed various events and the version 2.8 update for Hello Kitty Island Adventure during Gamescom 2025. The Scholastic Celebration event kicks off a series of events that will be held leading into the fall.
Scholastic Celebration welcomes Hello Kitty Island Adventure players back to school on August 24, as Pochacco and Tuxedosam get players suited up in sporty styles and school gear. The Jam Jamboree event follows up on September 12 with fun mini-games, sweet surprises, and other sugary rewards, including decor and costumes.
Update 2.8 “Sea of Wonder” is out now for the Apple Arcade version of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and it will follow up on September 18 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. In the update, players can go on new quests to catch mysterious fish with Badtz-maru, try out new fishing lures, and participate in the Fishing Derby to win past seasonal items. This is in addition to various other activities and familiar faces on the island.
In addition, Wheatflour Wonderland, the first-ever DLC expansion for Hello Kitty Island Adventure, will launch on September 18. In the DLC, Kuromi and My Melody accidentally spill a magical potion in Hello Kitty’s cafe, opening a portal to the realm. Cogimyun appears inside Wheatflour Wonderland with an urgent request, asking players to restore the Wheatflour Guardians and unlock the Ancient Citadel.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure is now available on Nintendo Switch, Apple Arcade, and PC via Steam, and PlayStation 5. Physical editions for Hello Kitty Island Adventure release on August 29 at retail for $39.99. On November 7, the $59.99 Gift Box edition will be released featuring Deluxe Starter and Crafting Bundles, a printed Critter and Fish guide, a set of exclusive collectable cards, Tophat’s Memories, and a premium double-sided poster.
