During Gamescom 2025, Square Enix released a new gameplay trailer for Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles. The gameplay trailer gives fans a preview of battles in Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles before next month’s launch.
Previously, Square Enix announced The Art of Final Fantasy Tactics artbook will release on October 2 for ¥2,750 (tax included) in Japan. Pre-orders for the A4-sized artbook are available in the Japanese Square Enix e-Store. The book includes illustrations from Final Fantasy Tactics (1997) and new images from War of the Lions (2007) and The Ivalice Chronicles. Moreover, the artbook includes previously unseen original character and job illustrations, rough map sketches, and illustrations from collaboration content, likely referring to the Alliance Raid series in Final Fantasy XIV.
The Final Fantasy Tactics Best Selection Vinyl Soundtrack will also release on October 1 for ¥4,620 in Japan. The 15-track vinyl record includes a jacket with artwork by Final Fantasy Tactics illustrator Akihiko Yoshida. Moreover, the vinyl comes with a MP3 album for the Final Fantasy Tactics Original Soundtrack featuring 102 songs. The MP3 album includes 31 tracks that didn’t appear in the original game.
Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles launches September 30 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. As previously announced, the Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade pack is free to Nintendo Switch owners of the game. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles features a code-in-box, instead of a game-key card.
Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles is a remastered version of the original 1997 PlayStation RPG with fully voiced dialogue, an optimized and updated UI, graphical improvements, and a number of other quality of life features, and an an easy “Squire” difficulty setting.
