Arrowhead Studios has announced that the previously teased collaboration between Helldivers 2 and Halo 3: ODST will release on August 26. A Warbond will be available for the collaboration, featuring gear inspired by the Halo franchise.
The warbond will include two armor sets, based on the ODST and Recon armors from the Halo series. It will also feature the assault rifle, silenced SMG, shotgun, and pistol from Halo 3: ODST. Further, there are new patterns for the game’s vehicles, an armor passive called “Feet First,” two new player banners and capes, and a title called “Rookie.” Check out the image and trailer showcasing the contents of the upcoming Warbond for Helldivers 2 inspired by Halo 3: ODST below:
Halo 3: ODST initially released for the Xbox 360 in 2009 and would later be available as part of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Halo 3: ODST takes place during the events of Halo 3 and focuses on a group of soldiers, known as Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (or ODST), as they are dropped in the middle of a war zone and must look for a way out.
Helldivers 2 launched on February 8, 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. It released to rave reviews from critics and fans alike, selling 12 million copies within just three months. In such a short period, it already outpaced God of War: Ragnarok. Moreover, a new Helldivers film adaptation is currently in the works at PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures. The game will release for Xbox Series X|S alongside the new Halo 3: ODST Premium Warbond on August 26.
