Nintendo has announced that Kirby Air Riders will release on November 20 for the Nintendo Switch 2. It has also revealed more information about Kirby Air Riders during a recent Nintendo Direct dedicated to the game

Kirby Air Riders is a high-speed racing game that serves as a successor to Kirby Air Ride on the GameCube. Where it differs from its predecessor is in the inclusion of multiple playable characters, such as Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Bandana Waddle Dee, Chef Kawasaki, Knuckle Joe, Waddle Doo, and Starman. There’s also Susie from Kirby: Planet Robobot, Magalor from Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, and Gooey from Kirby’s Dream Land 2

Players will be able to pick from a wide variety of machines to use in the main Air Ride mode, where you will race against competitors both online and locally. Alongside the original boost button, there’s also a new button dedicated to the character’s special move. Further, all characters are now able to use copy abilities. Some of the courses include Floria Fields, Cavernous Corners, Cyberion Highway, and more.

The Direct also confirmed the return of City Trial, the beloved mode from the original title. In this mode, players will be able to compete with up to sixteen players in an attempt to collect resources to upgrade (or switch) out their machine in preparation for a final stadium challenge. The challenges range from Air Glider, where you must fly as far as you can, or the classic Gourmet Race, where the goal is to collect as much food as possible.

Sakurai and Nintendo will reveal more details about Kirby Air Riders at a later date. Select tracks from the game are available now on Nintendo Music. Check out the full Nintendo Direct for Kirby Air Riders below for more details:
