Geoff Keighley has revealed a list of some of the featured games that will be shown during Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live. The event will take place on August 19 at 11 AM PDT/2 PM EDT/8 PM CEST.
Some of the games that will be shown during Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2025 are as follows:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
- Resident Evil Requiem
- Ghost of Yōtei
- Ninja Gaiden 4
- The Outer Worlds 2
- Silent Hill f
- World of Warcraft: Midnight
Alongside the games shown, Prime Video will show a new look at Fallout Season 2, which will premiere at December 2025. A music performance dedicated to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will also take place. Usually, Opening Night Live has lasted two hours in the past. That trend will likely continue with the next iteration of the event.
At Summer Game Fest 2025, Capcom revealed Resident Evil Requiem as the ninth game in the mainline Resident Evil franchise. Resident Evil Requiem will release on February 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Final Weapon had the opportunity to experience hands-off gameplay of Resident Evil Requiem at Summer Game Fest.
In Resident Evil Requiem, protagonist Grace Ashcroft, an employee of the FBI, will journey back to where it all began: Raccoon City. Players will have the choice to choose between first and third-person perspectives, which will allow for two completely different horror experiences.
Last month, Capcom released the “Creators’ Message” developer diary video for Resident Evil Requiem. The video features commentary and insight from game director Koshi Nakanishi, art director Tomonori Takano, and co-producers Masachika Kawata and Masato Kumazawa. There will be more Creators’ Message videos to come for Resident Evil Requiem before the game’s launch next year.
