PLAYISM and KOTAKE CREATE announced The Exit 8 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on August 29, the same day of the live-action film adaptation’s Japanese theatrical premiere. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of The Exit 8 will release with new anomalies, which will be added to the Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, and Xbox Series X|S versions in a free update.

Neon acquired the North American rights for The Exit 8 film. The live-action film will come to theaters in North America in early 2026. TOHO is producing the new The Exit 8 live-action film. Writer and director Genki Kawamura is leading the production. Kazunari Ninomiya is the star of The Exit 8
