TOHO announced a live-action movie adaptation of KOTAKE CREATE’s The Exit 8 is currently in the works. The movie will premiere in 2025 in Japan.
“The Exit 8 is being adapted into a live-action movie!” KOTAKE CREATE said on the newly launched official website. “I never expected a movie to be announced just about a year after the game’s release in November 2023, so I’m totally shocked and grateful. When I first heard about the movie, I wondered how they would turn a game without a story into a movie, but I believe they’ve managed to make something interesting without compromising The Exit 8’s world and atmosphere! I even got to visit the set, and it was crazy to see the underground passage and man right there in front of me! I hope everyone is looking forward to it! I’m really looking forward to its release myself!”
