Square Enix released a brand-new celebratory illustration from Naoki Ikushima commemorating today’s announcement of Octopath Traveler 0 and The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales. Both of these games are part of the HD-2D series, which has continued to grow in recent years.
Octopath Traveler 0 brings a fresh new adventure to the Octopath Traveler series. Set to release on December 4 across all platforms, you’ll be able to customize your protagonist for the very first time, with the theme of the game being ‘Embark on an adventure of your own creation,’ according to Producer Hirohito Suzuki. A Collector’s Edition is now available to pre-order at the Square Enix Store.
On the other hand, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is an HD-2D adventure that marks the first HD-2D game to feature real-time action combat. You can try out the game today exclusively on the Nintendo Switch with the ‘Debut Demo’. Square Enix revealed that the game is set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2026.
