The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy Update 1.1.1 Adds New ‘Extreme & Despair’ Difficulty

XSEED Games and Too Kyo Games have released the version 1.1.1 update for The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, which introduces the “Extreme & Despair” difficulty mode, several quality of life improvements, battle balance adjustments, and bug fixes.

Improvements

  • Chapter Select
    • Players can now start the game immediately before each decision making scene.
    • The maximum display area of the Chapter Select menu has been expanded.
  • Battle
    • A new Battle Mode “Extreme & Despair” has been added.
    • The auto-healing in Safety mode has been updated to occur at the end of the player’s turn.
    • Battles that have been cleared before can now be skipped even if they are not similar to any other battles.
    • “Redo Wave” has been updated to skip any events at the beginning of a wave.
  • Field
    • Added UI to show which direction characters are in hallways.
    • The brightness of the flash from the monitor during the morning and nighttime chime scenes has been decreased.
  • Gift-O-Matic
    • The player is now able to go back after selecting a gift to create. Gift creation will only occur after the player has selected the recipient.
    • The player can now filter gifts by hitting the “Name” button to open the Report Card and checking a character’s Preferred Items.
    • Grades that will improve by spending time with someone or giving them a gift can now be confirmed on the Report Card menu.
  • Exploration
    • Some story-related Exploration sequences can now be skipped.
    • Random battles will no longer occur based on player selections made during Exploration.
  • Others
    • Added a feature to toggle on/off the message window and controls during dialogue screens.
    • The cursor position will now be retained when saving and loading the game.

Battle Balance Adjustments

  • Tsubasa Kawana
    • Decelerate: Area of effect has been expanded.
  • Kurara Oosuzuki
    • Craft Mounted Turret: Increased turrets’ ATK by 1.
    • Craft Support Tower: Effect range of towers has been expanded.
  • Ima Tsukumo
    • Twin Wing Gale: Added an effect to heal Fatigue.
    • Bloody Angel’s Fist: Attack area has been expanded.
  • Kako Tsukumo
    • Energy Sniper: “Inflicts Attack -3 on user” has been changed to “Inflicts Attack -2 on user.”
    • Spirit Rain: “Inflicts Attack -3 on user” has been changed to “Inflicts Attack -2 on user.”
  • Moko Mojiro
    • Moko Dynamite: Armor +1 effect has been added.
    • Ultra Moko Bomber: ATK area has been expanded.
  • Battle Stages
    • The game balance for some battles has been adjusted.
    • Some boss behaviors and their skill effects have been adjusted.

Bug Fixes

  • All versions
    • Fixed an issue where the game crashes when selecting “Chapter09_A_aba_099” and “Chapter09_A_abb_099” in Chapter Select.
    • Fixed an issue where unique battles can be skipped even though players have not cleared any similar battles.
    • Fixed an issue where saving/loading during an exploration changes the player’s moving direction and square colors.
    • Fixed an issue where audio volume cannot be adjusted.
    • Fixed an issue where visual effects do not show up properly during battle.
    • Other minor bug and text fixes.
  • Steam
    • Fixed an issue where the cursor keeps moving when using the touchpad with no mouse connected.

Moreover, Too Kyo Games will host a special 100-minute livestream for The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy on August 2 at 20:00 JST / 7:00 a.m. EDT. The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy developers Kazutaka Kodaka, Kotaro Uchikoshi, and Taihi Kimura will appear during the livestream to discuss the game and make some exciting announcements.
