Riot Games announced a new 2XKO closed beta test will be held starting September 9 globally on PC. In addition, Vi was revealed as a new playable character, and she will be available in the 2XKO closed beta test.
According to the developers, they plan to keep 2XKO online after the closed beta test begins. The team will be deploying backend systems at a larger scale for the first time, so there might be some technical issues, but improvements will be made. The closed beta test will only be available for Windows PC. However, there will be cross-platform progression, which means players who start on PC can keep their progress when switching to console.
Sign-ups for the 2XKO closed beta test are available at 2xko.riotgames.com/beta. Riot Games will invite new players at the start of the closed beta and while the beta is ongoing. Players who played Alpha Lab 1 and/or 2 on PC will gain instant access, and those who played it on consoles automatically get access through the Riot client on PC.
Vi, the Piltover Enforcer, joins the roster of 2XKO, and a new reveal trailer was release to showcase her abilities. She will be playable in the 2XKO demo at EVO 2025, which takes place from August 1 to 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Moreover, a “Know Before You Go” guide for the character will be released soon.
2XKO will be fully released in 2025 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
