Arc System Works has internally canceled an unannounced Guilty Gear game, according to a report from Insider Gaming, The reason for the cancellation is currently unknown.
Based on Insider Gaming’s sources, the game’s cancellation took place “within the last couple of weeks.” One source claimed that they have gone “back to the drawing board” for the future of the series. In a recent interview with Dexerto, Guilty Gear Strive’s producer, Ken Miyauchi, stated that Strive will continue to get new updates in the coming years.
Arc System Works’ next major game is MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. It is a brand-new 4v4 tag-fighting game developed by Arc System Works. The game will release in 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC as the first new Marvel fighting game in nearly ten years, with the last one being Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite.
So far, the game includes the following characters: Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Storm, Ghost Rider, Ms. Marvel, Star Lord, and Dr. Doom. Arc System Works will likely reveal more characters in the months leading up to launch. The game is available to wishlist now. The Steam page confirms that MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls will have crossplay between platforms and English dub voices.
Additionally, Guilty Gear Strive is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Windows. Recently, the game added Unika, the latest character in Season 4. The next DLC character for Guilty Gear Strive will be Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, who will release in summer 2025.
