NetEase and Marvel has announced that Season 2.5 of Marvel Rivals, which will feature Ultron, will start on May 30. Additionally, NetEase has also confirmed several new balance updates for the game.
Ultron will be a Strategist (support) character. His main projectile is a laser, plus his abilities allow him to create shields for allies and fly in the sky. Season 2.5 will also feature a new map, plus new balance updates for Captain America, Doctor Strange, Emma Frost, Groot, Magneto, Thor, Human Torch, Iron Man, Jeff the Land Shark, and more.

Recently, Marvel Rivals Season 2, titled “Hellfire Gala,” released on April 11. The season will added Emma Frost, as well as new maps based on Krakoa from the comics. When season 2.5 starts, Ultron will be added to the game.
Ultron is releasing after the beginning of Season 2. According to a new Dev Vision video that released in April 2025 for Season 2, NetEase will start releasing characters once a month starting in Season 3. Seasons will also now last for two months instead of three.
Marvel Rivals also added costume colors, the ability to gift costumes, and new team-up abilities in Season 2. Several new patches that have added new events and bug fixes have also released ever since, and continue to release on a near-weekly basis. The game is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It may release later on the Nintendo Switch 2.
