Marvel Rivals Developer is “Open” to Nintendo Switch 2 Port

They're already in contact with Nintendo.

In a recent interview between IGN and Marvel Rivals producer, Weicong Wu, stated that they are open to releasing the game on Nintendo Switch 2. This comes after previous remarks that they will not release it on Nintendo Switch.

Specifically, Wu states the following: “We’re already in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits. And whenever we find that we could provide great performance for our game on Switch 2, we’re open to that. The reason why we didn’t launch it onto the Switch, it was the first generation of that device they cannot provide a great experience for our gameplay. So if it could achieve that goal, we’re open to that.”

Recently, NetEase and Marvel has announced that Human Torch (Johnny Storm) and The Thing (Ben Grimm) will release for Marvel Rivals on February 21. They join a roster of dozens, including both Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards) and the Invisible Woman (Sue Storm).

When the second half of season 1 begins, there will not be a rank reset. Players will retain their ranks and scores from the end of the first half. To earn new rewards, players need to complete 10 matches in Competitive mode and meet certain conditions. Rewards will include a new Gold rank costume and a variety of Crests of Honor, featuring distinct designs for Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All.

Marvel Rivals Season 1 started on January 10. The season, named “Eternal Night Falls, focuses on vampires such as Dracula. Mr. Fantastic and Human Torch are duelists (attack), The Thing will be a vanguard (Tank), and the Invisible Woman is a strategist. The game is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. NetEase will reveal more about Marvel Rivals‘ future on Nintendo Switch 2 soon.
