Marvelous announced farming action RPG Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5. Update: The Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam) versions of Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma were delayed from the original May 30 release date in order to launch alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
A Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Digital Deluxe DLC set will be available with the Seasons of Love Bundle and the Festive Attire and Dark Woolby Bundle for $9.99. In addition, a Super Digital Deluxe DLC set will be available for $19.99 featuring Digital Deluxe DLC, a digital soundtrack, and a digital art book.
A Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Earth Dancer Edition will be sold for $99.99 in the Marvelous USA store. This physical edition includes a custom box, original soundtrack CD, an artbook, a special folding fan, the Seasons of Love, additional DLC costumes, and a Woolby plush keychain.
Fans can also look forward to Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin collaboration DLC for Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma. Sakuna will be a resident of Azuma, acting as an NPC thatplayers can interact with at her home where she continues to cultivate rice. Players will be able to befriend Sakuna and invite her to the party for battle. More details about the new DLC will be revealed at a later date.
Season 2 of the Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin anime is currently in the works. In addition, developer Edelweiss is working on Sakuna Chronicles: Kokorowa and the Gears of Creation, a spin-off game that focuses on Princess Kokorowa. A new mobile game is also in development.
