The staff of the TV anime of Tsurumaikada’s Medalist anime announced the series will continue in Medalist Season 2. A new teaser trailer and key visual were also revealed for Medalist Season 2.

The Medalist anime first premiered on January 4 at 25:30 (January 5 at 1:30 a.m. JST) on the NUWAnimation programming block on TV Asahi and 23 affiliated channels. The anime went to BS Asahi on January 6, and Disney+ streams the anime series. The Kadokawa Anime YouTube channel hosted a live special on January 4 before the anime premiered, and a net radio program also began on YouTube.
The staff of the anime series includes former Olympic skater Akiko Suzuki, who choreographed the skating routines for the first season. Suzuki collaborated with retired figure skater Yuhana Yokoi and active figure skater Hinano Isobe.
Tsurumikada’s Medalist manga won the Best General Manga award at last year’s Shogakukan Manga Awards. The manga also won the Best General Manga at Kodansha’s 48th Manga Awards in May 2024.
Tsurumaikada launched the manga in May 2020 in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine, and it’s still ongoing. Kodansha published the 12th volume on January 22.
