NetEase and Marvel have announced a new mode for Marvel Rivals, titled Clone Rumble. It will be available on March 7 alongside a new event and Black Widow skin.
The official YouTube channel for Marvel Rivals describes the mode as follows: “In this all-new mode, both teams will select one hero each, and every player must choose between these two heroes for the ultimate mirror showdown. Will you master your pick and outplay your clones? Each team selects one hero, and players must choose between them. Adapt and dominate!”
Additionally, as part of a new event, you can also unlock a new costume for Black Widow called “Mrs. Barnes.” The costume, which initially debuted in Marvel’s 1872 storyline, will be available at no additional cost for players who progress through the event. Recently, NetEase added Human Torch, The Thing, Invisible Woman, and Mr. Fantastic to Marvel Rivals. The Fantastic Four join Season 1 alongside several new maps, the previously announced adjustments to competitive mode, and new balance adjustments.
Further, NetEase laid off Marvel Rivals support studio director Thaddeus Sasser and his team in an ongoing attempt from the company to increase profits. The layoffs are especially surprising, considering the game’s recent and continued success. It is unknown how this will affect the Marvel Rivals‘ future.
Lastly, Marvel Rivals will add the new Clone Rumble mode and new event on March 7. The game is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It may release later on the Nintendo Switch 2.
