During today’s Dessert de Otomate 2025 event, Idea Factory’s otome brand Otomate has announced several new titles that will be released for the Nintendo Switch in Japan. We’ve compiled some of those announcements from Dessert de Otomate 2025 below.
CRAZY CHA!N: Elpis no Kusari
Crazy Cha!n is the next game made by the same developers of Virche Evermore. The story follows a “chained saint” that wants to liberate her people from a war between two European countries. Said war, with its evolving mysteries and technology, continues to claim the lives of many people, until it is finally etched into history as the Thousand-Year War. Can the protagonist find love, even on this battlefield?
Mononoke Chigiri
Following up, we have Mononoke Chigiri, which was previously announced at Otomate Party 2024. A release date was finally unveiled, as well as the Japanese voice cast for each of the characters. The game comes out on July 31st, 2025 in Japan.
Mononoke Chigiri tells the story of a young onmyoji descended from Abe no Seimei in the modern world. Determined to help humans and yo-kai, she will have to deal with the great threat of an evil yo-kai who had been sealed by his ancestor, but has broken free of his seal. The protagonist will have to interact with a lot of these yo-kai, who also happen to be very handsome.
Yuukyuu no Tierblade for Nintendo Switch
Joining the Otomate Graffiti brand, where Otomate brings back old games from the PSP and PS Vita and brings them to the Nintendo Switch, we have Yuukyuu no Tierblade, releasing in 2025. Similar to previous releases, this game will contain both the original and the fandisk.
Yuukyuu no Tierblade’s story takes place 3000 years in the future, after a terrible war has polluted the worlds atmosphere. A young girl named Eve has lived in an underground shelter for a long time with only a robot AI for companionship. That is until one day, a man finds her, and the gears of her world start to move again.
DIG-ROCK -Documentary of Youthful Sounds-
Idea Factory’s Altergear brand also had a new trailer for DIG-ROCK -Documentary of Youthful Sounds-. The trailer unfortunately reveals that the title’s release date has been pushed yet again to 2025.
If you are unfamiliar with DIG-ROCK, it is a franchise made by developer Mintlip, where actors, models, idols and voice actors all come together in the DIGNITY PRODUCTION entertainment agency. There are many bands, and to this day, the project is still active. The game was originally planned to be an extension of the project, but due to some issues, and has pushed the release date a few times.
Matsurika no Kei -kEi- Tenmei Kashokuden
Next up, we have the fandisk to Matsurika no Kei, which will sadly only be released in Japan in 2026. The teaser trailer showcases Gyokusui, a new love interest. The trailer also reveals that the Gesshoku Kaigi musical group will be in charge of the game’s soundtracks, similar to the original.
Matsurika no Kei’s story takes place in a world where humans, immortals, and sacred beasts live and breathe. In the frontier of the prosperous Moonlight Country, there are two tribes: the White Wolf Tribe and the people of Matsurika Village. The different missions of those who have inherited the bloodline are set in motion.
9 R.I.P. sequel
Last, but certainly not least, a new trailer for the sequel to 9 R.I.P. was unveiled, showcasing the renders of each of the love interests, and other people that will be appearing in each of their routes. The trailer also shows the opening song, titled LOVExMAGiC by Tonari no Sakata, an utaite singer. The game will be released in Japan sometime this year.
The original 9 R.I.P. game was recently localized by Idea Factory International. The game divides the eight routes into four distinct groups: School Ghost Stories, Urban Legends, the Other Realm, and the Spirit World. Each group offers a unique mix of horror and romance.
