Toby Fox has stated in a new post that Deltarune Chapter 3 and 4 is currently in the “console testing stage.” Specifically, they are testing trophies on PlayStation, PlayStation 5 functionality, and the ability to transfer saves from Chapter 1 and 2.
The full post states the following: “Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there’s a lot to go through. (Haven’t even tested PS5 yet). In addition to fixing Ch3/Ch4, we also need to implement having saves from the DEMO carry over to the main game on consoles… We only received the technology to do this now. I hope it works!”
Recently, Toby Fox confirmed that Chapter 3 and 4 of Deltarune would release in 2025. He also revealed that Chapter 3 and 4 are “basically completed” and that PC testing and translation is winding down. In his latest Holiday Newsletter, he said that “on Halloween 2024, we announced…Chapter 3&4 will release in 2025. This is 100000000000% true. We are also working on some other exciting things that we can’t talk about now.
It will take a good while to get going, but 2025 looks like it will be an interesting year…!” The newsletter ends with a clickable link where you can read an in-character perspective on the Winter from one of Deltarune‘s characters, Noelle Holiday. Considering how fast development of Deltarune chapter 3 and 4 is progressing, it will likely release at some point between now and June.
Deltarune is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Its predecessor, Undertale, is also available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
