There will be minor updates will be made to the store listing, likely implying that the game’s publishing rights will switch from Nintendo to Square Enix.
Players who already purchased Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch won’t be affected. They can still re-download the game at any time, and it will become available to purchase once the listing’s changes are made.

The most recent game in the prolific RPG series is Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, which was developed by ARTDINK and Square Enix’s Team Asano. They’re also working on Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, with series creator Yuji Horii continuing his role as supervisor. These remakes will bring the entire Erdrick trilogy to the modern era, while vastly upgrading its visuals in a way that stays true to the classic RPGs.
