    Xbox CEO Phil Spencer Confirms Plans to Support Nintendo Switch 2

    Games like Halo and Doom: The Dark Ages could make their way to the console.

    In a recent podcast, Xbox CEO, Phil Spencer, announced that they will support the Nintendo Switch 2 with what will likely be a wide variety of games. He states the following: 

    “Who would ever bet against the success of that team, I mean, they are just masterful in what they do, Switch is a massive success and I think Switch 2 will be as well…Nintendo, their innovation, and what they mean in this industry… I just always applaud the moves that they make.

    They did a little flash video, and I know we’ll get more detail over time. I’m really looking forward to supporting them with the games that we have, and I just think they’re a really important part of this industry.”

    There are several games that Xbox could port over to the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s possible that Doom: The Dark Ages, Starfield, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and maybe even the Halo franchise could release on the upcoming console. Xbox will likely confirm more details about the games they intend to release for the Nintendo Switch 2 before the year ends.

    About the Nintendo Switch 2

    Recently, Nintendo finally revealed the Nintendo Switch 2 via a “first-look trailer.” The trailer showcases the original Switch before transforming into the new hardware. As previous rumors implied, the console has a new stand, new magnetic joycons, a mysterious new button, and a new dock and handheld base.

    Further, the trailer teases the next entry in the Mario Kart franchise right at the end. The trailer ends with the following clarification on new Nintendo Switch 2 games and backwards compatibility:

    “Plays Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games, as well as Nintendo Switch games. Nintendo Switch 2 plays both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games. Certain Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. Details will be shared on the Nintendo website at a later date.”

    The showcase direct focused on the console will premiere on April 2. Fans hoping to try the console out can attend the Switch 2 experience, an event that will be available around the world.
