At CES 2025, AMD announced its brand-new Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D desktop CPUs will be launching in Q1 2025, alongside the new Radeon RX 9070 GPUs. These new Ryzen X3D chips bring exceptional performance gains over the previous generation X3D chips.

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D features 16 Zen 6 CPU cores, integrated AMD RDNA 2 graphics, and 2nd-generation 3D V-Cache technology. Similarly, the Ryzen 9900X3D features a slightly lower core count at 12 Zen 5 cores. According to AMD, these newer X3D processors relocate the cache memory below the core complex die (CCD), allowing for the placement of CPU cores closer to the cooling solution. As a result, users can expect higher clock speeds and better performance at lower temperatures compared to previous generation X3D chips.
