MAPPA released a new trailer for the new Ranma 1/2 anime series, confirming that the series was renewed for Season 2. To celebrate the announcement, Ranma 1/2 character designer Hiromi Taniguchi released a new illustration on the anime’s official Twitter/X account.

The first season of the new Ranma 1/2 anime premiered on October 5 via Netflix. It’s streaming with English, Spanish (Latin America), Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional) subtitle options.
The cast for Ranma 1/2 includes the following:
- Kappei Yamaguchi as (male) Ranma Saotome
- Megumi Hayashibara as (female) Ranma
- Noriko Hidaka as Akane Tendō
- Minami Takayama as Nabiki Tendō
- Kikuko Inoue as Kasumi Tendō
- Kōichi Yamadera as Ryōga Hibiki
- Rei Sakuma as Shampoo
The first anime adaptation for Ranma 1/2 premiered in April 1989. In Japan, the anime ran until September 1992, which includes the Ranma 1/2: Nettō-hen series. The anime also received two movies, a theatrical anime release, and multiple OVAs. What’s more, the most recent Ranma 1/2 anime adaptation was Ranma 1/2: Nightmare! Incense of Spring Sleep special from September 2008.
