The Nintendo Switch version of Snowman Story the countless improvements made to the mobile and Steam versions. In addition, Odencat optimized the game for the Nintendo Switch with the addition of a landscape mode, full controller support, and touchscreen support in handheld mode. Further, there are additional voice effects for all characters, along with an improved and fully revised English translation.

Final Weapon previously reviewed Snowman Story for Steam, stating that it’s “a short and sweet game where players go on a journey as the titular snowman, Chris. Despite the lackluster gameplay, the game boasts a beautiful art style and with its heartfelt story, it’s the perfect way to ring in the Holiday season and pay tribute to the ‘most wonderful time of the year.’”

Here’s an overview of the game from our previous coverage:

In Snowman Story, players take control of a snowman named Chris on a journey to find a fabled land far to the north—a paradise where it is said that his kind may be able to survive their inevitable fate of melting when spring arrives. Along the way, he’ll encounter a whole host of woodland critters who’ll guide him on his way and offer assistance with the game’s icy puzzle stages.

He’ll also follow in the footsteps of other fallen snowmen, each with their own tragic tale to tell of how they tried and failed to make the very same pilgrimage. By reading memories from their remains, and hearing their cautionary tales, Chris just might be able to avoid the same fate.
