Final Fantasy XIV Reveals Patch Notes for Patch 7.11

The new Futures Rewritten Ultimate is finally here.

Square Enix has released the patch notes for Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.11, which is the first post-patch of the recently released Patch 7.1. While this is a patch that has a slightly smaller scale, this one adds in the long-anticipated high-end duty Futures Rewritten (Ultimate), and also addresses some bugs that were found in Patch 7.1.

You can read the full patch notes at the Lodestone.

Square Enix describes the new Ultimate as follows:

“Like a river, the future winds in boundless ways. A single ripple may alter the course of its flow─and as one ripple leads to another, myriad are the possibilities. So it is in this land, once blighted by the Flood of Light, where the resistance of many gave way to a morrow blessed by the night sky.

If, similarly, the future wrought by two young women were but one of countless possibilities, what other forms could their morrow have taken? Fascinated by such visions, the wandering minstrel weaves a ballad of futures rewritten.”

Clearing this new Ultimate raid will give you an Oracle Totem, which can be exchanged for a Ultimate Edenmorn weapon. This will also give you an achievement and title. However, in order to unlock this Ultimate, you must have all the AAC Light-heavyweight M4 Savage raid at least once. This condition applies to all eight members of your party.

In addition to this, a slight change was made to how Ultimates work. If multiple party members with the same job are present during an Ultimate raid, the limit gauge will no longer fill as battle progresses. Curing an ally on the brink of death or preventing an enemy from using its special attack will cause the gauge to rise as per normal, however.

Now, several bugs were addressed in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.11, and some of the most prominent ones involved a connection problem with the DUALSHOCK 4 controller, and an issue in Eastern Thanalan wherein players were unable to fish, and certain water related effects and animations did not display correctly. All of those bugs were thankfully addressed.

The content updates will still continue, with a new custom deliveries client (Nitowikwe), Wachumeqimeqi quests, and Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures sidequests are scheduled to be released in Patch 7.15 on December 17, 2024. And then, one week after, on December 24th, the Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) is scheduled to be released. Finally, additional role quests are scheduled to be released in Patch 7.16, which will release on January 21, 2025.

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
