Valve, NVIDIA, and developer Orbifold Studios announced Half-Life 2 RTX, free DLC for all Half-Life 2 owners on PC via Steam. The DLC is powered by the latest version of RTX Remix, which leverages full ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS 3.5, and many more features found on NVIDIA RTX 40 series graphics cards.
Half-Life 2 RTX also features new hand-crafted textures, enhanced high-polygon models, and updated lighting. Such an upgrade also includes native 4K support, allowing Half-Life 2 to be playable on gaming monitors and TVs in crisp new detail.
A release date for the free DLC has not been announced, but fans can wishlist the DLC now by heading to the official Steam listing. In the meantime, Half-Life fans can also watch a new 20th anniversary tribute video for Half-Life 2 from NVIDIA.
