Square Enix has released the version 1.050 update for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth with the PS5 Pro Enhanced upgrade, offering better performance and higher fidelity visuals on the newly released console. Before diving into the PS5 Pro Enhanced version, Square Enix also released screenshots and a new trailer to give fans a sneak peek.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth update 1.050 adds Versatility Mode, combining characteristics of Performance and Graphics Modes into one. This mode targets 60 frames per second and uses PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution to optimize rendering and display a resolution equivalent to Graphics Mode. A more stable frame rate is also ensured due to the PS5 Pro’s “High CPU Frequency Mode.” Moreover, the update brings bug fixes and improvements to overall in-game stability.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available now for PS5 and PS5 Pro, with future platforms possible now that the exclusivity period is over. Fans may also look forward to a third and final part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. In a recent interview, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth co-director Motomu Toriyama confirmed that news for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 should arrive before or around September 2025. That month will mark the second anniversary of Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis.
