Final Fantasy VII Rebirth co-director Motomu Toriyama shared some interesting comments in an interview with Famitsu, revealing that the news for Part 3 of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy should arrive before or around September 2025. That month will mark the second anniversary of Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis.
According to Toriyama, Square Enix may have already started to release information about Part 3 of the Final Fantasy VII Remake project by the time Ever Crisis’ second anniversary arrives. He hopes that players will get excited about that with the development team. At the very least, this confirms that players will know a lot more about Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 during the course of 2025.
“By then, we may have started to release information about the last part of the FFVII Remake Project, so I hope that players will get excited about that with us,” Toriyama said.
Currently, the Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis 1st anniversary event is live with new exclusive anniversary gear for Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Yuffie, and other fan-favorite characters. This new gear is themed after Bahamut, one of the Final Fantasy franchise’s most iconic summons. A new “The Cetra’s Story: Birth of the Destroyer” story event is themed after the summon as well.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available now for PlayStation 5, with future platforms possible now that the exclusivity period is over.
