What Happened in Chapter 14? (Recap)

In chapter 14, the story begins with Boruto’s interrogation by Konoha officials after his capture in the previous chapter. Konohamaru questions him about the humanoid Divine Trees that attacked the village. Boruto explains that the humanoid Divine Trees are attempting to gain vital information by devouring specific individuals, all to serve Jura, a direct incarnation of the Ten-Tails. Though Boruto provides some insight, he remains vague about his sources, causing frustration among the officials.

As the interrogation intensifies, the Konoha Council grows impatient, even suggesting Boruto’s execution as a last resort. However, Boruto shocks everyone by revealing that Naruto and Hinata are still alive. Again, though, he refuses to provide further details. This leads to Ibiki beating up Boruto so much to force information out of him. Things get out of hand, so Shikmaru orchestrates a clever move to give Mitsuki the keys to unlock Boruto’s handcuffs. After Mitsuki secretly unlocks Boruto’s handcuffs, Boruto reassures the council that he doesn’t view them as enemies and will reveal critical information when the time is right. Boruto disappears and leaves everyone mentally stunned and divided on how to handle the situation.

The chapter ends with more bad news for Konoha, as Shikamaru learns from Kankuro that Gaara and Shinki were defeated, likely by one of the humanoid Divine Trees. The final reveal shows that Shinki’s humanoid counterpart, Ryu, emerged from the Thorn Soul Bulb. With Boruto on the run and the enemy growing stronger, the chapter sets the stage for more conflict and leaves readers speculating on what comes next. Stay tuned for chapter 15!
