A recent panel during New York Comic-Con 2024 has confirmed new cast details for the upcoming Adult Swim anime, Lazarus. Additionally, they also released a new key visual and confirmed that the anime will premiere in 2025. The cast of Lazarus includes the following:
- Mamoru Miyano as Axel
- Makoto Furukawa as Doug
- Maaya Uchida as Christin
- Yuma Uchida as Leland
- Manaka Iwami as Eleina
- Megumi Hayashibara as Hersch
- Akio Otsuka as Abel
- Koichi Yamadera as Dr. Skinner

Shinichiro Watanabe and MAPPA’s Lazarus is a new original sci-fi anime with action sequences by John Wick stuntman and director Chad Stahelski. The anime’s composers include jazz and electronic artists/producers Kamasi Washington (West Coast Get Down), Floating Points (Floating Points Ensemble), and Bonobo. Watanabe is directing every single episode of the anime.

The world has entered an era of unprecedented peace and stability, largely due to Hapna, a drug developed by neuroscientist Dr. Skinner. Hapna spread throughout the world as a “miracle drug” with no side effects and freed mankind from pain. However, its developer, Skinner, suddenly disappear and no one knew where he had gone.
–Three years later, he reappears as a demon who leads the world to ruin.
Hapna was a trap, a drug that causes death after three years of use. “Thirty days left. If you can find my place by then, humanity will survive.” The only way to save the world is to use the only vaccine Skinner has.
