FuRyu announced Team Noir, the newly branded development team behind Monark, is now developing a new school RPG. This new game will feature a different theme, unlike Monark’s focus on desire and ego.
“We are Team Noir, a game team dedicated to creating school RPGs that explore the charms of those who shine the brightest through the darkness of the human heart,” Team Noir said in a tweet on the official Monark Twitter account. “While Monark centered on desire and ego, we have begun work on a new project with a different theme. We hope you will all continue to give FuRyu’s Team Noir your support.”
While celebrating Monark‘s second anniversary in 2023, game producer Fuyuki Hayashi states that everyone involved with development of Monark is happy with the support that fans continue to give them two years later. The sales achieved during the game’s first year allowed the development team to continue onto a “new challenge.”
At the time, Hayashi said that the development team planned to continue celebrating the second anniversary of Monark well into 2024, leading to today’s new RPG announcement. Hayashi hopes fans look forward to what’s coming soon. Finally, Hayashi asks fans for their continued support of Monark for more years to come.
Monark launched on October 14, 2021 in Japan followed by the western release on February 22, 2022 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. Lastly, our review of Monark for Nintendo Switch can be found here.
