Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo confirms that The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st, the upcoming remake of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC, is being developed fully in-house at the studio.
During an Asian media event, Kondo assured fans that both Trails in the Sky the 1st and trailers being shown are “100% produced in-house by Nihon Falcom,” according to an interview at GNN (via Automaton Media). He also mentioned that the game’s trailer “was of such a high quality that some players even suspected it was outsourced” to other development studios.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2025. The game’s translation appears to be based on the Trails in the Sky FC translation from XSEED Games. Falcom notes that PC and PlayStation releases of the game are to be determined, as a publisher is also undecided.
For the first time ever, Nintendo Switch fans will be able to play the first title in the Trails series. According to the Falcom website, the game is currently only scheduled to release on Nintendo Switch. A publisher has also yet to be revealed.
The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki -Farewell, O Zemuria-, the next game in the Trails series, is currently in development. As the prophesized 120X date draws near, various heroes are drawn to Calvard. This includes returning Class VII members like protagonist Rean Schwarzer, Crow Armbrust, and Altina Orion. The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki -Farewell, O Zemuria- releases on September 26 in Japan for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
