Xbox Announces Tokyo Game Show 2024 Showcase

The event will be held on September 26 at 6 AM EDT.

Xbox has announced that they will hold a showcase during Tokyo Game Show 2024. They will hold the event on Thursday, September 26 at 7 PM JDT/3 AM PDT/6 AM EDT/11 AM GMT. The showcase will focus on “an exciting lineup of games from third-party partners primarily based in Japan and across Asia, including games coming to Xbox Game Pass.”

It will also include other games from Xbox Game Studios, Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, and Bethesda. This will likely include Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and more. Expect a new look at Metaphor: ReFantazio as well, releasing on October 10.

Recently, Xbox dissolved their biggest Japanese developer, Tango Gameworks. The dissolution is part of the ongoing trend of several major companies have laying off hundreds, if not thousands, of workers from across their entire gaming division. Examples include Microsoft, Bungie, Embracer Group, Behaviour Interactive, Riot Games, Sega, Sony, EA, Take-Two, and more.

Thankfully however, KRAFTON, the developers behind Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds,  announced that they acquired Tango Gameworks, saving it from closure. The acquisition includes the rights to the Hi-Fi Rush IP. Hi-Fi Rush is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It is unknown if the game will release on the Nintendo Switch. Steam describes the beloved game as follows:
