    Square Enix Expands Manga Up! Catalog to Anime-Planet

    A major expansion.

    Square Enix has announced that they have expanded their Manga Up! catalog to Anime-Planet. Specifically, manga chapters from popular series featured on Square Enix’s Manga UP! service will be available on Anime-Planet’s online reading portal for free. Further, Fullmetal Alchemist, Black Butler, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, and more will be available on Anime-Planet’s online portal.

    Nobuhiko Muranaka, Director of Square Enix’s Global Publishing Division, says the following about the news: “We’re excited to give the Anime-Planet audience access to some of our most popular manga. We hope audiences enjoy the characters and stories our creators have developed and look forward to entertaining them with our works.”

    Kim Cameron, Founder of Anime-Planet, stated that they’re “thrilled to announce this partnership with Square Enix. Manga UP! is one of the leading platforms in the Japanese manga industry, and it’s so exciting that our community will now be able to discover and track new content.”

    Anime-Planet has “a comprehensive database of anime and manga information, legal content to read and watch online through industry partnerships, and social features such as personalized anime and manga recommendations.” Additionally, their online reading portal currently has chapters through partnerships with Lezhin Comics, J-Novel Club, MediBang, and Manga UP!
